The MediaEraser MD-103 is a compact “Puls” degausser which uses a powerfull 9.000 Gauss capacitive discharge. Compared to traditional “Coil” degaussers which use a continous magnetic field, a Puls degausser releases a short powerfull magnetic puls. The MD-103 erases hard drives (laptop, desktop up to 3,5 cm high) and high coercivity tape media, including all formats of LTO, SuperDLT I & II, DLT, AIT, 8mm and more.
The Media Eraser MD-103 produces an erasing field many times stronger than the erasing fields produced by the read/write heads in hard drives and tape drives. The field strength along with the encompassing magnetic field ensure the data is no longer recoverable by computer or laboratory attacks.
The MD-103 has been independently tested and certified by both the Polish Military Counterintelligence Service and the Polish Academy of Science. Built-in sensors check field strength during each erase cycle to ensure failsave erasure.
